Jenni Hinckley - PreBallet

I love to teach ballet because I love seeing the creative process evolve as a child moves and discovers the different shapes her legs, arms, toes, fingers, and head can make as they dance across the stage.

I have been a part of the CBT family for over 25 years, first as a student and now as a teacher. I feel like my years as a student gave me confidence and grace in varied aspects of my life. I hope that as a teacher I can pass on qualities that CBT has taught me that have gone far beyond lessons I learned at the barre.

I love ballet because it pushes mind and body farther than we originally though possible. Ballet encourages creativity while instilling structure and control.

I do not believe I have one “dance teacher philosophy”. But I try to begin each class by remembering how I was taught. Remembering that ballet is the perfect balance between pushing ourselves forward but never, ever forgetting the basics, “shoulders back, chins up, tummies in, tight knees, pointed toes, ready begin. . .”
